Number of students: 150 students this year, with repeat use of project materials to impact many more Grade of students: High School juniors and seniors (3 high schools in this area)
Description of Project: Workbound is an established program in Sheboygan that teaches highs school juniors and seniors the skills needed to be prepared for entry into the business world, as well as teaching problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork skills and networking skills. As a result of this program, students come away having the ability to make sound, informed decisions about their future, as well as having a cluster of people from the business community as well as personal contacts who are focused on their success.
There are 12 components of the Workbound program covered in the manuals used by the staff of the “Project Adventure” program—
Self-evaluation and interest assessments
Goal setting
Junior year team building
Senior year team building
Group meetings with student, parent(s), business mentor and personal advisor
Job shadowing
Communication training
Employment skills development: resume building and interview, time management and prioritization skills, networking
Career portfolio
Career exploration
Financial responsibility
Review, revisit and reevaluate planning process
How Funds Will Be Allocated: We would like to buy the following manuals for the program—

Total $1104
The Workbound Board and Executive Director raise additional funds for the program all through the year. The Givers Gain Grant would be supplemented from these funds for the total amount.
This charity was hand-selected and invited to apply by Pam Wittneben and Beth Misner. If approved, they will be present at the US National Conference to receive their Givers Gain Grant at the Members’ Day event on Friday.
